The Christ the King parish church in Waterschei (Genk) was designed by the architect Gaston Voutquenne (plans of 1933), built in 1935-1936 and consecrated on 11 October 1936. It is a cruciform church with a concrete frame infilled with yellow brick and bluestone details, dominated by a tall, slender west tower under a dome. The flat facades are marked by the geometric volumes of the low aisles. Dom Braun designed only the liturgical furnishings. The church has been listed since 2002; the inventory does not explicitly class it as Art Deco.
