The casino was built in 1932-1934 by Léon Stynen with the Blankenberge architects Raphaël Speybrouck and Gustaaf Van Sluys. Its modernist sea-front façade is dominated by a large angular tower, while the interior is Art Deco and holds a vast mural by Albert Saverys depicting the Battle of Sluys. Damaged during the Second World War, its façades were clad in tiles in 1995, with the original façade surviving underneath.
