Destroyed by a shell in 1916, the headquarters of the Compagnie des mines de Lens was rebuilt from 1928 by Louis-Marie Cordonnier, and the offices opened in 1930. The architect combines a regionalist brick design with elements borrowed from Art Deco, such as bow windows and projecting geometric motifs. The interior retains a rich decor, with furniture from the Majorelle workshop. The façades, vestibule, several rooms, the staircase and its stained-glass window, as well as the garden, have been partially listed as a historic monument since 1 December 2009.
