Ancien café-cinéma, rue Arthur Roelandt 17 — Dottignies (Mouscron)

This former café and cinema belongs to a group of buildings probably dating from the first third of the 19th century, remodelled in 1930 when the façades were renovated in an Art Deco spirit. Its two-storey façade, beneath a flat roof concealed by a pediment-like entablature, shows Art Deco touches in the window mouldings, the low-relief friezes and motifs, and the railing of the central balcony. It is clad in marbrite imitating dressed stone, a facing rarely found in the region, and two cartouches bear the dates 1830 and 1930.
