Gabriel Debouny
Gabriel Debouny, born in Verviers on 19 March 1900, was an architect working in Liège. About ten of the fourteen buildings on the Quai du Condroz, a homogeneous ensemble built between 1930 and 1935, are his work. The Quai du Condroz faces the Vennes district, which has the highest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the city. A member of the Resistance, he was shot by firing squad in 1943 (late May according to the website of the Fusillés de la Citadelle).
