Tower of the Ankerhof brewery, built in 1934 when the Wambacq family's historic brewery across the street was extended, to house one of the first bottling plants; the beer brewed at the Ankerhof was pumped to it under the street. This five-level tower on a square plan, under a flat roof, probably has a reinforced-concrete frame with brick walls. Its street front, reminiscent of Art Deco, is framed by pilasters carrying a cemented entablature with the inscription "BROUWERIJ ANKERHOF" in lettering typical of the interwar period, flanked by anchors, while a central glazed bay and bricks laid on edge stress the verticality. Production ceased in 1957; the tower is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
