Of the former Jesuit chapel, built in 1620-1625 and destroyed during the First World War, only the façade remained; within it the town had a festival hall built, completed in 1927. The Maubeuge architects Jean and Henri Lafitte created two levels, a music room on the ground floor and a ballroom upstairs, served by a monumental staircase. Spared when the town was destroyed during the Second World War, the building is a unique example of the expression of Art Deco. The façades and roofs have been a registered historic monument (inscrit MH) since 1958, and the interior and its decoration since 1 December 1997.
