Opposite the Church of Sainte-Croix, not far from the entrance to the Château de Rixensart, this monument erected in 1930 honours Count Félix de Merode (1791-1857), a politician who took part in the events of 1830 and one of the most illustrious owners of the château. In the Art Deco style, it was designed by the architect Ab. Debecker of Rixensart, whose signature is inscribed on it. An imposing stele with geometric lines, bearing a medallion with the count's profile, rises above a few access steps.
