Set back from the street in a garden, this house was designed in 1932 by the architect Pigeolet for the brewer Marcel Ansar; the former Maison Masse is now the cultural centre of Quaregnon. Modernist in spirit, with touches of Art Deco and the Amsterdam School, the building is characterised by its flat roofs, the geometric articulation of its parts and the arrangement of space around the stairwell. The interior is particularly well preserved, with its panelling, floors and lighting. Its facades and roofs, together with the entrance hall, staircase and doors, have been listed since 1991.
