Art Deco house and warehouse built in 1930, according to the land registry, for the merchant Alfons Vanneste-Matthijs, owner of the "De Ster" mattress factory. The yellow brick façade is enlivened by decorative brickwork, recessed and staggered wall planes and artificial-stone parapets; the house, under a mansard roof, has a three-sided bay window over two storeys and a recessed entrance with a double door beneath a timber canopy, while a meander motif decorates the parapet and the iron balcony railing. The adjoining warehouse has a central projecting bay under a low triangular pediment and a recessed panel that probably once carried the firm's name. The whole is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
