Les Arcades is a property development launched in 1930 by the Tourcoing hospices along avenue Gustave-Dron, laid out according to the plan drawn up in 1919 by Jacques Greber between the station and the town centre. Designed by the architects Maurice Batteur and Léonce Claudez, the building was completed in 1932. 160 metres long, in concrete clad with faience tiles and bricks, it houses 25 shops beneath an arcaded gallery, topped by a mezzanine and five floors of apartments. Its façade, animated by projecting sections, bears abundant colourful Art Deco ceramic decoration.
