Montdidier's eighth town hall, destroyed in 1918, was rebuilt to plans by the Parisian architects Charles Duval and Emmanuel Gonse between 1928 and 1930. Built of brick, it has stepped gables and patterns of overfired bricks that betray the influence of Flemish neo-regionalism, but its style is Art Deco. The ceremonial hall is decorated with paintings by Maurice Pico, and the grand staircase is also remarkable. The building was listed as a historic monument by order of 14 October 2003.
