The Hirson engineer Aimé Bonna, who made his fortune with a process for sewer pipes, decided in 1929 to have a new church built at his own expense for the railway workers' estate; he drew up the plans himself and ran the construction site. The foundation stone was laid on 3 October 1929 and, despite Bonna's death in November 1930, the reinforced-concrete church was consecrated on 30 September 1931. Its Art Deco vault and ceiling are adorned with some 1,500 plaster roses, and the façade bears bas-reliefs by Jacques Martin. It has hosted concerts since 2014.
