A simple but authentic Art Deco café, built around 1933 (land registry sketch of 1933) on the corner of the Schoolstraat, on the site of a house of 1912 destroyed in 1919, and barely altered since. This red-brick corner building of three bays and two storeys under a slate roof has a cornice façade with a timber cornice on a low bluestone plinth; the white-painted cement lintels linking the openings and the lozenge ornaments give it its Art Deco character, and a cartouche bears the café's name in decorative lettering. All the joinery survives, as does the interior of the bar room, with tiled floor, panelling, counter and bar cabinets. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
