Former café-brasserie built in 1939 by the architect Henry Lacoste for the Carbonnelle brewery, on the site of the second Bailiwick house. The façade borrows many medieval-inspired elements (stepped gable, mullioned windows, cut-stone facing in the old manner, Gothic moulding of the balcony) in a modern syntax. The freer rear has brick walls with rounded edges and a remarkable bronzed-copper door with expressionist masks by the sculptor Nathan Imenitoff.
